Lawand Hiwa Namo (b. 1994) is a political commentator at TV2 News and labor market commentator at Politiken. Despite his young age, Lawand has cemented himself in the public eye as one of the sharpest analysts of social issues. With humor, wit and a twinkle in his eye, he steers events safely through.

Lawand holds a degree in political science from the University of Copenhagen. He is a former speechwriter and communications advisor for FH’s management and has worked as Head of Policy & Analysis at the agency FRIDAY.

Lawand is also the youngest and only independent person to date to win the Danish Debating Championship (2015). Today he is a judge at the same competition.

Lawand’s mother took her own life when he was 13 years old, and he makes a virtue of speaking openly about taboo subjects. He has a unique language for unlocking the difficult and heavy elements of life. The mental well-being of young people is one of his personal areas of interest.
