Line Gertsen is educated Cand. mag. in Media Studies and Journalism from RUC, Roskilde University Center. She has completed the first part of a PhD course on public service news values, but has stopped her research in favor of investigative journalism. She joined TV Avisen from DR Dokumentar, where she hosted the award-winning exposé of A – Vask, which became the news story of the year.

Special interests
Line Gertsen was employed at TV2 Denmark on the TV2 Investigates format, where she uncovered the scandal surrounding plastic surgeon Jørn Ege and covered the first Danish terrorism cases. At TV Avisen, she was employed as a host from 2007 to 2012 and later became an investigative correspondent. Today, Line Gertsen is the face of DR’s investigative journalism at TV Avisen.

She has been nominated for the Cawling Award for uncovering the scandal surrounding psychiatrist Arne Mejlhede, which led to layoffs at the top of the Danish Health Authority and an investigation into the supervision of healthcare professionals in Denmark. Line hosted the program “Det er helt sort”, DR1, which uncovered and took the temperature of the Danes’ relationship with undeclared work and, among other things, revealed the largest case of undeclared work in a construction company in Danish history. She also hosted the documentary “Prostitutionens bagmænd”, where she went undercover as a trafficker in the prostitution and trafficking environment.
