Annika Wetterling

Annika Wetterling (b. 1994) has years of experience moderating panel debates, conferences, workshops and one-to-one interviews. With 6 years as a TV and radio host at DR, she is an expert in making complex material understandable and engaging on stage and in front of the camera. As a former host of DR’s news podcast Tiden, she is used to interviewing politicians and researchers, and she masters both the critical, soft and exploratory interview.

Annika Wetterling has a special ability to evoke the people she speaks to and prepares herself thoroughly so that the most important messages reach the target audience. On stage, you will experience an attentive moderator who makes a virtue of communicating in an engaging, fun and unpretentious way. The goal is always to create as honest and constructive a space as possible. Whether it’s a political debate, a vulnerable conversation or a critical interview.

Annika Wetterling deals with a wide range of topics and has a special interest in the gender equality and representation debate, human rights, philosophy, Scandinavian differences and modern art and culture. Annika moderates in Danish, Swedish and English.

Annika Wetterling’s expertise is particularly strong in the following areas:

The Nordic region and Scandinavian differences
Annika Wetterling is half Swedish, has in-depth knowledge of Sweden and is regularly involved in Nordic affairs. She has worked as a Sweden reporter for DR News, where she appeared on various DR platforms, and as host of the DR2 documentary series “Annika and the Swedish Corona Mystery”, where she delved into the cultural and institutional differences between Denmark and Sweden.

Foreign Policy
With several years of experience at DR News’ foreign desk, Annika has built up a broad knowledge of international conflicts and political issues and is quick to put foreign and major political issues in a Danish context. She has moderated debates and workshops for the Danish Foreign Policy Society and UN City.

Entrepreneurship
Being an entrepreneur is about daring to think differently and believing in what no one else does. Annika loves talking to people who think outside the box, who dare to challenge the norm or go in a different direction than most. She has hosted two of the Foundation for Entrepreneurship’s Entrepreneurship Festivals and moderated several talks with both young and established, award-winning entrepreneurs.

Gender equality, diversity and diversity
Annika is passionate about gender equality and diversity and has most recently worked with these topics as a moderator at DR’s music summit “Women in Music” and in connection with several international film screenings at CPH:DOX. She has built up special expertise in the field through her work as a volunteer board member of WIFT – the network that works to promote gender equality and representation in the film and media industry. For example, she moderated a heated sexism debate between Denmark’s top media executives at the Film School in the wake of the #metoo wave in 2021.

Youth topics: Climate, (mis)well-being and youth involvement
As host for four years on DR News’ YouTube channel – with over 100,000 regular young viewers – she has gained in-depth knowledge of political issues that concern young people, including the climate crisis, the well-being crisis and youth involvement. She has moderated DR’s Youth Conference at Christiansborg and has worked with youth-inclusive journalism. She therefore knows what it takes to engage the young target group.

Democracy, human rights, freedom of expression and the UN Global Goals
As a former news journalist, Annika has regularly dealt with these issues in connection with coverage of the war in Gaza, the war in Ukraine, foreign journalists’ working conditions, etc. As a moderator at UN City, she has taken stock of the UN’s Global Goals with the Secretary-generals of UNICEF Denmark and Save the Children Denmark. As a moderator at CPH:DOX, she has dealt with human rights and freedom of expression at several international film screenings.
