About Sofie Buch Hoyer
Sofie Buch Hoyer (b. 1990) is a young yet highly established moderator with ten years of experience in leading debates, conferences, and live interviews.

She has challenged a range of prime ministers and top politicians while also excelling at engaging young panelists and audiences. This unique ability enables her to facilitate meaningful discussions across generations.

Previously, Sofie worked as a journalist at Politiken and as an editorial director at the magazine RÆSON. From 2020 to 2024, she served as the editor-in-chief of Højskolebladet – Denmark’s oldest cultural magazine.

At Folkemødet, one of the biggest democratic events in Denmark, she is a central figure every year, hosting and moderating debates on some of the largest stages, including Højskolernes Telt (The Folk High Schools’ Tent).

With experience spanning classical political journalism, the folk high school movement, and Danish performing arts, Sofie frequently operates at the intersection of education, culture, and politics.

She also rethinks traditional debate formats, creating dynamic and engaging discussions where dialogue and participation take center stage.
